Mission Statement

To create a spiritual garden on the Sari Club site for persons to reflect upon and acknowledge the terrorist attack on October 12th 2002, along with all acts of terror worldwide. To help build a future without fear by promoting tolerance, understanding and freedom for generations to come, irrespective of nationality, culture, religious belief or race.

Overview

The Bali Peace Park Association Inc (BPPAI) is a totally non-profit organisation founded in 2008 in Perth, Western Australia.  It is a group of people trying to make a difference and to give some sort of peace to all victims, their families and friends, who suffered in the Bali terrorist attacks.

The BPPAI Board is made up of survivors of the 2002 and 2005 terrorist attacks in Kuta, their relatives, friends and supporters. It is our aim to acquire the Sari Club site and work alongside the Balinese to create a spiritual garden and museum.

Ongoing support from the Governor of Bali and the Bupati of the Badung Regency has been vital for the Bali Peace Park project.  The Bali Peace Park Association Inc. is also supported on a number of levels by the Australian Federal and State Governments.

Dr Fiona Wood

Our Indonesian patron is Bali Governor Bapak Made Mangku Pastika. As the former Bali police chief he spearheaded the successful investigation of the 2002 bombings and subsequent capture of the terrorists.

At a meeting held early in 2009, the Bupati of the Badung Regency A.A. Gede Agung, and senior Government figures announced their support for the memorial peace park and museum on the former Sari Club site.

The Regent expects that the construction of the Peace Park will create a spiritual atmosphere as a symbol of tolerance, peace and contemplation… and to commemorate the Bali bombing tragedies.

Our Australian patron is Dr Fiona Wood. The former Australian of the Year headed up a team of Western Australian doctors who treated the burns victims of the 2002 bombings.

We have had an overwhelming amount of support from many people worldwide and will require fundraising and sponsorship to purchase the land and make the park a reality.

The success of the Bali Peace Park relies solely on donations and sponsorships. We appreciate all support that is given to us.
